David Colley, son of the late Rev. Earl Colley and Laura Mae Colley was born on January 12, 1952 at the Metropolitan Hospital in New York City. David departed this life on January 19, 2019 at St. John Episcopal Hospital after a long battle with illness.
David received his education from the New York City school system. David graduated from Morris High School. David was a kind hearted person, always eager to help people, so he secured his LPN License as a nurse and went to work, he had discover his passion and enjoy being part of the team. He wore his uniform with pride, white and always pressed, with a smile he loved life.
David gave his life to Christ at a young age and was baptized and became a member of Silver Star Baptists Church under the leadership of his father the late Rev. Earl Colley.
David never had any biological children of his own, but he help raised five children who he loved dearly and considered them as his own.
David loved family gatherings, not just for food, but for the fellowship. He made sure he attended, even if he left early because family was always important to him.
David leaves to cherish his precious and loving memories (two) sisters Redel Hughes, Irene Parks, (two)brothers-in-laws, James Richardson and Richard Parks of New York, (five) children he raised as his own, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends
