AMEH AKHIMIE DUNNING

Why didn't the stars come out last night? It was as though they had a Presentiment about
this very day. Why were the skies at an unusual standstill? Perhaps they too had heard the
very sad news. The sun didn't rise at its normal time, even the birds didn't rise to sing their
morning chorus. And the rain came down calmly, as if it were telling the winds to send out a
special breeze, then the leaves responded, falling solemnly. Not knowing that it had been
forecasted in the early hours that an Angel had been inducted to the Heavens.
On December lst, 2019, Heaven received our beloved daughter, sister, wife, aunt/mother,
niece, cousin, friend and confidant-Ameh Akhimie Dunning. Ameh was born to Millicent
Oshodi and Felix Akhimie on June 1,1977, in Chicago, Illinois. Ameh attended and graduated
from Walton High School in the Bronx, NY, after which she attended NY City College of
Technology in Brooklyn, NY where she obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
Ameh had a passion for arts and crafts and loved music; she could paint a picture of anything
and anyone and could dance rhythmically to any music genre all night long.
After graduation from college, Ameh worked in various places, until 2oo6 when she gained
employment with New York City Housing Authority, where she worked approximately 13
years. In May 2015, Ameh became the wife of Louis Eweka. Ameh loved her family and
would sacrifice everything she had to ensure that everyone around her was happy. Ameh
loved her mother so much and was so worried about leaving her mother, that she held on
and fought even harder to stay with us. But on the day of her departure, Ameh had had a
discussion with her Creator that she was ready for her new journey, as she was sure and
reassured that she would be leaving her mother in safe hands with her loving family who will
continue to provide the love and care to her mother, as time was no longer on her side, and
w us, her family to continue to love one another and to remain unified in love. Then
she Gallantly and Triumphantly left to rest.
Ameh Akhimie Dunning is survived by her mother, father, uncle, husband, sisters, brother,
nieces, nephews and cousins. You’ll be greatly missed.
DEAREST AND BELOVED AMEH, MAY YOUR ANGELIC SOUL REST IN PERFECT PEACE.
WITH LOVE-YOUR ENTIRE FAMILY.
